Leuven network
The K.U. Leuven network is a broad network with a lot of users. Therefore it is difficult to predict the influence of changes in the network topology. Because network material is very expensive and the economic loss is very high when a failure occurs, it is necessary to have an idea of the consequences in advance. For this reason a computer model is made of the university network, the necessary statistics are measured and with this model and these statistics, simulations were done to be able to predict the consequences of certain changes or failures.
The model is build and the simulations are done with the software packet OPNET Modeler. The statistics are obtained using SNMP and Perl.
